To the last comment, I bet your butter was too soft or warm. If this ever happens with just about any recipe try adding some flour until it comes together and and not sticky.

Hi Dani,

I am glad they turned out great for you. I usually wait about 1 or 2 minutes to put the kiss on and then don't move them until they are set. I found that if I move them, they lose their shape more.

I made these and they tuned out great!!! They were a big hit as a treat after our church's Christmas program.
I do have a question though, any tips on how to get the kisses to maintain their form? The first batch I made I waited a few minutes and they still melted a bit and the second batch I waited too long and the cookies cracked somewhat when I put the kisses in.

I have already copied your original post so I can try to make these when we get home. When I was a kid, Christmas tradition was a version of these with peanut butter and a milk chocolate kiss. I can't wait to have BOTH this year! I am a truck driver and baking is something I look forward to doing when I get home for a break. I've really enjoyed looking through your blog for inspiration and ideas to try when I'm home in my kitchen!
