Simple and Delicious.
I hope everybody enjoyed the Holidays. I know I enjoyed my nice long vacation from work and spending quality time with friends and family. You have may have noticed a little lull in the blog, but don't work I am back for 2012 with more recipes to share. It seems everybody gets a little baked out after the holidays and I am also one of those people. Yesterday was my first day baking since New Years and all I made for NYE was a batch of my famous chocolate chip cookies. Anyway, I have been saving this recipe for you from before Christmas. One of my friends brought these too my cookie exchange party back in December and they were a hit. If you have never made these bars, you should really give them a try. They are incredibly easy to make and truly delicious!
So I have a question for you. What types of recipes would you like to see in 2012? Perhaps you would like to see more of something, or perhaps there is something you have never seen me post. Let me know and I will add it to my list!

Looks like we had the same thing in mind tonight! Yours look so beautifully formed! Had they been in the fridge? or was this them straight out of the oven?
My friend actually made these bars and brought them over. I am not sure if they were in the fridge, but she definitely made them the night before.
Sorry I can't be of more help!

These are hands down one of my favorite cookies!
Hi Risa,
I've been reading your blog from time to time. These cookies are great. I haven't made them for awhile so thanks for the reminder. Along the same lines as bar cookies are savory casseroles. If you have any new casserole recipes you could share, that would be the recipes I would love to try.
I would actually like to see more fruit based recipes. I love my chocolate desserts, but you've pretty much got those covered! Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, pineapple...I am always looking for more ways to use these flavors.
Ohhh, I call these Crack Bars!!!
Happy New Year to you...glad you enjoyed your vaca!
I check your blog time to time. A friend of mind told me about about your blog probably a year a go or so. By any chance do you have gluten/wheat/dairy free cookie recipes? I have a friend who can't handle these ingredients and I am always hesitant to try to make something free of all those ingredients. Thanks for your help.
TO the last comment. Unfortunately, I don't have any gluten/wheat/dairy free recipes. If I come across any, I will definitely share them. There are blogs that specialize in that type of recipe so definitely search Google.

Hi Risa! Glad I came across your blog! I'm new to the world of blogging and love everything and anything food. Can't wait to try this one and can't wait to see what recipes you come up with next!

I made these for a family dinner tonight at my in-laws, and everyone loved them. Simple and delicious. Thanks!
My "secret" to cutting cookie bars and brownies is using a pizza cutter. It doesn't drag like a knife and make nice clean cuts.
I call them granny bars and they are my favorite!
half chocolate chips and half butterscotch chips makes them a hundred times better!
