My version of Monster Cookies

This was for Dave:

My co-worker Dave has been talking about Monster Cookies for months. I decided I would finally make some for him. If you are not familiar with Monster Cookies they are a peanut butter, oatmeal, chocolate chip, M&M Cookies. Most monster cookies have little or no flour, but since I am a fan of chewy non-flat cookies. These cookies will please most people since they have so much in them. They are really versatile so you could swap in our out anything you please. I know Dave loved these cookies, so I hope you do too!
Monster Cookies
recipe from Baked Perfection

3 eggs
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 12-ounce jar creamy peanut butter
1 stick butter, softened
1 cup M&M's
1 cup chocolate chips
2 teaspoons baking soda
3 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1 cup all purpose flour

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a large bowl, combine the eggs and sugars. Mix well. Add the salt, vanilla, peanut butter, and butter. Slowly mix in the baking soda, oatmeal, and flour. Stir in the M&M's and chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoons 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Let stand for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool.

Hmm, we don't put oatmeal in ours, so I am not really sure if that is a qualification to being a Monster Chip Cookie.

I love your blog and have made many recipes. I also love the pictures and clear directions.

These cookies look fabulous. Here is my famous Monster Chip Recipe in case you would like to try it sometime.

MONSTER CHIP COOKIES

36 oz semi-sweet chocolate 1 1/3C peanut butter
chunks or pieces(4-6C) 2C sugar
5C pecan halves (opt) 2C brown sugar
4 1/2C flour 4 eggs
2t baking soda 4t vanilla
2C margarine

Set aside 1/2 C pecans; chop remaining. Stir together flour and soda. Cream together butter, peanut butter, and both sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour. Add chopped nuts and most of the chocolate. Using 1/4C dough, make cookies and place evenly on lightly greased cookie sheets. Push reserved chocolate and nuts into tops of cookies. Heat oven to 325°. Bake until golden brown around edges and lightly colored, but not brown, on top. Let cool on sheets about 3 minutes until firm. Place on wire racks and let cool. Do not over bake. Yield 48 very large cookies.

I usually bake half of the dough 1 day, and freeze or refrigerate the rest and use it another time. Thaw dough slightly before placing it on cookie sheet, then bake as usual.

The formatting might come out weird. If it does I will post the recipe on my blog and put a link here.

Thanks again.

These are tooooooo sweet. I used 1 cup less of the brown sugar and they are still gaggingly sweet. I ocmpared this recipe to others on the web, and find that these have almost twice as much sugar as others. I did like the overall flavor, so will make them again, with half the sugar.
