These were amazing!
I was sick this past week and all I wanted was a blueberry muffin. I had been craving one for a while after eating a less them impressive muffin from Au Bon Pain. I was not about to let a little sickness (actually it was a lot of sickness) keep me from making a muffin. I researched a several recipes online and ended up making my own. These muffins turned out better than I could have ever imagined. In my opinion they are the best muffins I have ever made and much better quality than anything you could find at the local coffee shop. They were even better than the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins I raved about last October. This recipe is simple and delicious so if you love blueberry muffins you have to try this recipe.
Bakery Style Blueberry Muffins
Muffins:
2 eggs
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cups sour cream
1 1/2 cups blueberries
Topping:
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease 12 muffin cups or line with paper muffin liners.
In a medium bowl mix together flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon. In a large bowl beat together eggs, white sugar, and brown sugar. Mix in oil, vanilla, and sour cream. Mix dry ingredients into wet mixture (be sure not to over-mix, batter will be lumpy). Gently fold in blueberries. Scoop batter into prepared muffin cups so they are 2/3 of the way full.
To make the topping: mix together 1/2 cup sugar, 1/3 cup flour, 1/4 cup butter, and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon. Mix with fork, and sprinkle over muffins before baking.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes.

These would be sooooo good with fresh blueberries this summer!!!!
You can pick as much as you want if you bring a few of these yummy-looking muffins!
Zack and I are definitely visiting the farm this summer. I will bake something delicious with your blueberries and then advertise for you!
I'm in awe of your perfect-looking muffins. I have a self-confessed addiction to blueberry muffins...there's just something about them. I can't wait to try your recipe! I'm so impressed with how fluffy your muffins look and how high of a dome you got!
Nothing like a blueberry muffin to speed up the recovery time! They do look bakery-worthy, especially with that crumb topping.
Oh, man, you've been sick, too? I've been running a fever since Fri. evening. My whole "free" Valentine's weekend was spent in bed sick!!! I'm better today but not great. Hope you're feeling 100%!
Your muffins do look awesome. I want the tops! I rarely buy baked goods anymore I just wind up being disappointed.

I can't tell you the last time I had a blueberry muffin! It has been far, far to long! I have some blueberries left in my freezer from when we went picking last summer - perhaps I will have to pull them out and give your recipe a try!!! Hope you are feeling better!
OHH! These look so very delicious. I'dlove a cup with coffee right now. The streusel looks to die for.

Wow these look incredible! I have been looking for a great blueberry muffin recipe and I think I will have to give this one a try!
These sound delicious! Now if only I liked blueberries, :(
I was searching for a peanut butter muffin recipe, but this came up.
Be frightened; i'm going to attempt to make these muffins with peanut butter as opposed to blueberries.
I love experimenting, so why not? I'll let you know how they turn out!
Definitely let me know how they turn out with peanut butter!
I just found your blog today and made these. They sounded too good to pass up! They came out great.
I found your blog and this recipe when I searched google today. These are amazing!!! I can't wait to see what other yummy recipes you have!
I also substituted Nonfat plain Greek yogurt for the sour cream since I didn't have any and it turned out great!
Thanks Kelli. I am so glad you liked the muffins!
Hey Risa! This is Sara H! I am making these this weekend for a friend and can't wait to try them! :)
I searched high and low to find a blueberry muffin recipe without milk or butter since I didn't want to run to the store. I finally found yours which had exactly the ingredients that I had in my kitchen! They're amazing--definitely a keeper recipe.
Hi Risa, I'm a friend of Krystal's and I made these blueberry muffins with berries Krystal and I had picked. I made two batches, the first was great...the second, not so much. Not sure what I did wrong. I was wondering if you used an electric mixer to mix the eggs and sugar...or if you did everything by hand. I used a mixer for the wet ingredients but added the dry ingredients by hand. I found that the topping came out of the over great, but got wet as I stored the muffins in a closed plastic container on my counter. These muffins were the best tasting though of any recipe I've tried!
Hi Risa! This is Ruth, Leslie's friend. I just baked these yesterday and they turned out fabulous! I used huge fresh blueberries and they are delish! Thanks so much!
All I can say is WOW, you didn't even fudge alittle when you said that these were the best you'd ever tasted. I made 3 separate batches, 1st blueberry & lemon(just a tad & the zest, even in the crumble topping), 2nd - dried cherries & chocolate chip (YUM), 3rd was apple butter(homemade) & oats (double yum), thanks for posting the receipe will be using it ALOT......
These blueberry muffins were amazing! I even had the privaledge of trying these with fresh blueberries!
